Time To Start My BR Diary......

This will be my journey....not expecting an easy ride. If it helps just one person then I'll be happy.......

Wed 3rd Dec
Right lets get this thing off the ground.
A trip into Leeds County Courts to get the official papers. I drove the 3 miles into Leeds city centre with a strange feeling in my guts - drove in silence (unusual for me) no Motorhead blasting out, no radio on - it felt quite theraputic listening to the engine. I found a parking metre at the back of the massive court buildings and made my way to the main entrance - What the f**k!! It's like a football match. TV crews and police everywhere....Ah, the Shannon Mathews case - verdict was imminent. I made my wat though the throng to the entrance. I was searched, went through the metal detector, resisted a funny quip to the guard about not finding my gun....
Once inside the nice girl on the reception dest pointed me the way to go. Up to the end counter and in a firm, strong voice "I would like the forms to enable me to petition for my own bankruptcy please". I was given the pack (3 sets of each form + guidence notes + the procedures explained and all the relevent court info). All the forms needed to be filled out in triplicate. I could write out one form then photocoppies will suffice for the other 2. You can also fill the forms out online but I wanted to use my own handwiting.

Thurs 4th Dec
Today i will wade through the forms. I'll use one set as a "rough" and then when I'm happy with it all I'll write one out neatly then photocopy the others. I had all the relevent help websites up from the stickies on here (God bles t'internet eh?).
Before I tackle the forms i need to get to my bank and cancel the standing order for my debt mangement plan, as advised by the CAB (how else can i save the £500 BR fees?) Bl**din' snow!! Took me an hour to drive 2.5 miles to the bank!! Anyroad, that done, I called at the shop for some bacon - this could be a long job - then back home, bacon sarnie, pot of tea and off we go - Christ, they wanna know everything!! Surrouned by a mountain of statement paperwork by midnight I had my rough form more or less done.
Tomorrow, friday, I start my nightshifts. I will ring the court on monday afternoon to book an appointment to present my petition and see the judge. Crikey!! JUDGE!! Never seen a judge before in my life. That word really kicked and made me realise just what a serious situation I'm in.
Anyroad, I'll get the weekend nightshifts out of the way and will be back in the real world on monday afty.

Mon 8th Dec
Nightshifts all done. Woke up at 2pm. Had a bath. Read through my SOA (again!!).
Right, stop fartin' about and ring the soddin' court!!.
2 minutes later I had my date with destiny - 30th December 2008 - glad its december as I can wave bye bye to a crappy year. I asked for an afternoon appointment to give me chance to get there on the train - I don't know how long it will take and don't really fancy city centre parking prices.

Thats it so far....I'll try and update as I go along

So it'll be one big New Year's eve celebration for you!

If you need any help with the forms or the SOA just shout! The hardest part is really the lead up to bankruptcy - the court bit is easy.
