soundproofing? Can NHBC do anything?

Is it worth getting in touch with the NHBC about poor soundproofing between our house and the next door semi. We can hear every door and cupboard/drawer close during the day and night. Surely this level of sound transference could not be right? Can we contact the NHBC first directly or should we contact the developers/builders first. Problem is they don't seem the most approachable or professional. I am also based in NI, just to provide some further info.

The NHBC are effectively an Insurance Company that take on the long term defects of new build houses. At the poinht of practical completion an inspector from the NHBC will inspect each house in a development and 'approve' it. This will include things like sound testing which would need to be certificated (this is certainly the case for flats). Its unlikely that the NHBC will do anything, particularly if the house has been certified by them. If you can prove that the sound insulation wasnot installed thaen you may have a case but it would be difficult to0 prove without removing part of the boundary wall for inspection.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
