Small update:
OR telephone call at 9.30am today, was all straightforward and it only lasted 30 minutes... it flew by!
I remembered the golden rule: "Don't waffle, and answer only what is asked"
My car (all £700 of it) is being exempted as it's essential for travelling to work... happy about that.
No mention of any IPA or BRO etc at this stage, they mentioned possible ED but did state it could be the full 12 months.
I asked what I should do with any further correspondence from creditors, they said "Either forward it to us or just bin it"...!
Well, I wish I could press a FF button to December now, but that's just wishing my life away.
I hope the toughest parts are over now, fingers crossed I don't hear from the OR again unless it's good news. Eagerly checking the post from now on to get my bit of paper declaring the car as exempt.
The hard parts have been dealt with now, and I finally feel I can move on. The end is in sight, albeit quite a few months away.
Thanks again to everyone on here, I'm sticking around to try and help as best I can, I'm no expert on anything legal but if everyone chips in a bit into the pot then it all adds up...?:j BR on 09/12/08 :j

Well done, well done.......
There seems to be a real feel good feeling on the board today - everyone seems to be having positive experiences of either BR or the OR - I am so pleased for you.
I hope the feel good factor lasts as far as my OR interview. Don't want to be the one to break the mould .........
Very best wishes for a Debt Free Future

Keeping the quick updates going...
I received my letter (REPR) today confirming the car as Exempt Property.
Feeling good about that, now it's finally down on paper.
And, have just checked my wageslip for this month (Jan) and saw that my taxcode is still 603L... so hopefully no NT taxcode for me either, seeing how it's fast approaching April:j BR on 09/12/08 :j

congrats on your experience, glad all went well for you...... i need to kick myself somewhere & get the ball rolling! ... regarding the car did the OR want to see your docs or just took note of the valuation?:grouphug:0

When I spoke to the OR in my telephone interview, they noted that I'd declared the car's value at £800... they asked how I'd obtained that value, I said I just referred to Parkers Online and used that figure, based on it's average condition, mileage and year of manufacture (all the info was declared on my BR forms)... they took
that as acceptable and haven't asked to see anything else.
TT (and anyone else reading this "diary"), the hardest part is getting started. It all feels like a massive task at the start, but once you're off the starting blocks, keep running for the finish line, you'll soon get there and then you'll look back and wonder why you didn't set off earlier.:j BR on 09/12/08 :j

Small update:
After my OR interview on morning of 19th Jan, I popped into my local Co-op Bank and applied for a Cashminder account that very day.
Minimal fuss, I only needed my passport even though I took quite a bit of ID in with me. The form was only 2 pages, really easy. They even offered me free coffee while I was there... if only all banks were that nice!
So today, my cashcard has arrived in the post (12 days after) and the account is now open.
Just need to wait for the PIN number to arrive now, doh.:j BR on 09/12/08 :j
