I'll try this later.....
I would be interested to know how Saver-Rob and Kong rate Last.fm as you have specialist tastes in music. I imagine the sites you've recommended are excellent for introducing new bands, and keeping the more obscure musicians in circuit.
Last.fm seems to have a gigantuous range of music, and some very obscure, but also operates to on a popularity model, ( which I like ).0 -
I love last.fm too.
A similar site I found is Musicovery
http://www.musicovery.com you pick your mood and can also opt for the decade of music and different genres. It then gives you a lovely flowchart of ideas of music to listen to and will play through the chart like a radio station. Unfortunately the quality isn't great unless you get a premium subscription and it can be a bit pernickety to work (at least on firefox), but good for discovering new music.
It's not a radio station and won't have music to suit all tastes but The Live music archive is a huge resouce, if a bit limited in it's scope. It's mainly American based, and what's there really depends on what bands those willing to record and upload gigs actually listen to.

The Hype Machine - follows music blogs. You can search for a track top right and usually there will be a blog post with a link to listen to it, and sometimes a download link. And obviously you can see what music the bloggers also like.
