Natwest Student Account

I am a student, in my first year and i am struggling for money, as i think we all are come the end of the first semester. I handed in an application for a student account with natwest a week ago, and I was told in 2-3 days I would recieve my account details. I havent recieved anything. I am really starting to panic about not getting this account before christmas!

Does anyone know how this process works? How long it takes etc?

Thanks for any help

  • Assuming you handed in the form in a branch and didn't go through the application with someone, then it would have been sent off for processing in the customer service centre not done in branch.

Best bet is to ring or pop into a local branch and ask them to see if it's been opened yet. If it hasn't then I'd ask to open one there and then as I would think it won't get opened from the form you handed in now. Take ID (passport and driving license) with you as well as proof of student status (UCAS acceptance letter or student card that has year of study on it).

HTH or PM me and i'll give you my branch tel number and I'll have a look for you tomorrow!
Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.
  • I've been talking to another student having the same problem with Natwest - we're trying to track down any others so we can ask them what's going on. Are there other people at your uni who are having difficulty?
  • well, i went into the branch today and chatted to them. they told me to ring the internet helpline, which i did in the branch and they said that because i had applied online a while ago, and recieved all my things to sign which i didnt hand in til over a month after receieving them in the post then the time had elapsed as u only get roughly 28 days :S i duno really.

so they said i've to pop in tommorow and open one in the branch with them and il have my account straight away, it will just be a case of waiting for the card and pin. so hopefully all sorted!

and yeah, theres quite a lot of ppl having problems with them atm!

Yeah the paperwork you get in the post is only valid for 28 days I am afraid so you must have missed the boat but if you go into branch with ID, proof of address and proof of student status they can do the app there and then for you :)
