Yorkshire Bank fixed rate bond - certificate
Mallowgirl
Hi - this is my first post. A couple of weeks ago I managed to apply for a 3 year fixed rate bond at 6.48% with Yorkshire Bank just before they pulled the product. I have had a letter confirming my application has been received and processed and the cheque has been cashed, but to date no certificate or other proof of account has been sent out. I've called but they just say the admin dept is v busy and there's a backlog. Cheque cleared 26th Nov, account opened same date, and still no cert as of 9th Dec.
Just wondered if anyone else out there having similar problems?
Thanks

It is not unusual in the present climate for a backlog to delay things depends on the bank/bs really .Think of a month or more for All/Leic. Halifax is pretty quick this is my experience of course. In your case you have your letter as proof of your application etc so be patient, you could always phone up their customer service anyway and ask them for an update quoting any references in your letter,

Application posted 12/11
Acklgd dated 14/11 saying '..if you don't see certificate in 4 business days give us a call...'
Chq drawn 16/11
End Nov I rang to say 'WTHIGO....?'
Nice lady say 'Soz...buried in applications- take another week to 10days...'
Got my cert (showing start date 19/11) yesterday, 8/12
Gross 6.23 2yr FTB :thumb:
Lets hope there's no hyper inflation in the mean time.0
