why does only 2/5s of my freezer work?

We hace an upright freezer that stands approx. 1420mm tall and has 5 compartments.Recently we have noticed that some things are not staying frozen We have narrowed it down to the lower 3 compartments.Bread and ice-cream wont freeze at all while other things are are not completely frozen around the edges and some things are showing signs of freezer burn.It is a Beko freezer and I have just dug out the receipt,no surprise to find out it's out of warranty as we bought in June2002.
Any ideas as to why two compartments are ok while the other 3 aren't? as I think I would be right in assuming a single element would cover the whole unit?

Possible air flow/cirulation problem at the rear of the compartments?

Take all the drawers out and check for anything which may have become jammed/stuck at the back.

number one cause is that it wasnt stood for 24 hrs before being plugged in after delivery....check manual.

Number two is that the sensor is clogged or not working , and the thing is too full elsewhere....

Clean the seals and dry food packets on the outside before they go in to prevent excess moisture.
