I am a member of the Books for Children book club. I am usually really good at remembering to reject the "Editor's Choice" but in the run up to Christmas fogot all about it.
I recieved a parcel and I being billed for £14. They want to charge me £3 to return the books.
Now, is it classed as me "ordering" the goods if I choose NOT to reject them IYSWIM? Can I keep them and tell them to go whistle their money??
TIA

whe you joined the club it would have been in t&cBaby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0

I agree with Sara, your t&cs will include a clause that if you don't reject the editor's choice it will be sent to you. Therefore, the book is not unsolicited.0

Am I right in thinking most book/ CD clubs run like this. I was in Brittania Music Club several years ago and it did this.
I would suggest if you are not happy cancel. I buy books through a book club linked to local school - i get cheap books and the school get commision/ books. I also collect the books from the school - no hassle with parcels. Everyones happy.
Obviously helps if you're a (school age) parent0 -

In the past I joined a couple of clubs on this basis ... I included a letter agreeing to the 'minimum purchase conditions' of the contract but told them that I would not be willing to accept any unordered goods. I also made it clear that if something was sent then I would keep it safe until they arranged pick-up at their expense.
One club rejected my application but a couple of others accepted and I was a customer with them for quite a while and bought many items without the hassle of 'the editors choice'. Try talking to them, I would have thought that once the minimum number of items are purchased then they would be happy to deal this way.
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
