You will find it almost impossible to get any type of credit with an undischarged bankruptcy on your file.

You got bankrupt for not being able to deal with your debts, therefore, no company is going to give you a chance until you are discharged. Harsh, but true.

Without sounding harsh, do you rust yourself with a credit card ?

Firstly Hi, Welcome to the board

On a less negative boat, and non jugemental, my BFF was made bankrupt through no fault of her own (she had breast cancer and was unable to work, keep up paymemts ect) up until then she was great with money but as we all know cirumstances happen sometimes beyond our control.

She was discharged about 3 years ago and now has a barclaycard and a capital one so anything is possible.

She got a mobile contact to boost her credit rating first of all (think she had to pay a deposit £100) and progressed from there.
So don't think of yourself as a leper (I know she felt that way for a long time) there is hope at the end of the tunnel.

    Good luck, but be careful!

    Hi there

I am a discharged bankrupt and my bankruptcy is due to come off my credit files on 9 May 2009. However I have been able to build up my credit history and have a few credit products as you can see from my signature below. I also have a 02 contract. It has been a real struggle but once my bankruptcy is removed along with registered defaults I will have a perfect file with plenty of green zero's.

Try Vanquis or Capital One to start with - check out the subprime credit card board, plenty of useful tips and advice to find there.

    Wish you luck.
