I was just wondering why you don't want to use YouTube?
When you upload to YouTube, you can set videos to 'private' and invite only selected people. It doesn't have to be open to everyone.
Google Video ( http://video.google.co.uk ) lets you upload videos but don't show them in the search results. Means you can email a link to your family to watch, but other people can't search and find it.
HOWEVER, it doesn't use a password or anything, so essentially anyone *could* see the videos - they just don't know where it is..if that makes sense.0 -
As toasterman says, YouTube vids can be logged into by a select few, so you might want ot reconsider. But there are plenty of alternatives that you might prefer. Veoh for one.0

Picasa is good for this too, you can upload stills and movies and make them accessible only to a chosen few.0
