BT Option 2 & 3 discount - £33 saving for existing subscribers

Options
If you are on BT Option 2 or 3 you can reduce the cost for the next six months, as they are making their "half price line rental for half a year" offer open to you as well as new subscribers.

This is what the sales line on 0800 800 040 told me to do (and it worked):

Whichever Option you are currently on, ring them and ask them to move you to the other one. (2 to 3, or 3 to 2). Wait a couple of days for the move to be effected, then ring 0800 800 040 and ask to be moved back to the one you were on originally, at the discounted rate. That's £5.50 pm (as opposed to £11.00 pm) for Option 2 or £20 pm (as opposed to £25.50 pm) for Option 3. The discount lasts for 6 months, and so the saving is £33 in either case.

The only downside is that you have to commit to a 12 month contract.

You can also move from Opt 1 to 2 or 3,but you cant move back to Opt 1 for a year this means on OPT 2 your inclusive E&W calls will average out at £2.75p a month a lot better then most CPS suppliers.

But if your really into saving money. You would be better of reducing to OPT 1 and subscribing to 1899 for your peak 01/02 calls, 18185 for your Mobile Calls and Primus Saver 2 for your free E&W calls.

I finally re-assessed my phone bill two weeks ago, and swapped from BT Together 1 to Option 3, which will only cost about £20 per year more than moving supplier. I rang up and asked for the extra line rental discount, which will save me a further £30! Total saving £210 p.a.. Hurrah!

    Hi Rebecca.

You have switched to BT Opt 3 from Opt 1 on their new half price line rental which means you are locked into them for a year, but they give you unlimited calls 24/7 to 01/02 numbers ,at a cost of 6 months x £2Op and 6 months x £25.50p =£273. Take off a years line rental option 1 £11x12=£132 and you are paying £141 for the calls for a year. This is equivalent to 90 calls a week on 1899 at just 3p a call.Do you actually make 90 calls a week? (plus you dont pay for your calls on 1899 if your away eg: Holiday.)(1899 now accepts d/d payments).

On top of 1899 you could have made further savings by using Primus Saver 2 and got all your Evening and Weekend Calls for FREE!
