Hi all,
I have decided to treat myself to a laptop (don't know which one yet) and would like to know what I need to buy exactly to get started (batteries, leads plugs???)
Also knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about laptops, how do they work? Do i have to be in a room with a telephone plug or what?!
I would be grateful for any and all replies.
Thanks.

Go onto the Dell website.
Buy a laptop for about £350, I have the Inspiron 6400.
It will have everything on it that a good media PC needs.
When it arrives switch it on and it should find your wireless broadband straight away. Enter your passkey and away you go.

Err, this advice assumes that you do actually HAVE a wireless router on your Broadband at home in the first place

You say you dont know anything about laptops. How much do you know about the computer in front of you? A laptop is the same, only smaller
