All, tell me if this is in the wrong forum.
I bought an Advent 9112 laptop of ebat a couple of months back, but now the HD has died. However I was given the receipt to which the laptop is still under warranty by 4 months but the receipt is in the original purchasers name/address. Does anyone know how i treat this when contacting currys?
I'm presuming the sles contract is with the original purchaser. Do Currys do a transfer of ownership thing? like dell does.
Have you been in a similiar position?

you wouldn't be able to take it back to the store you would need
to phone currys technical helpline and the Laptop would appear on
their screen when you quote the number asked for which is on the
receipt ( they keep a note of everything bought and where bought
for each household where the postcode has been aquired)
at places where they ask me for postcode when paying cash like Materlan
i give them Gordon Browns postcode0 -

Best thing to do is to book it into you local currys for service, they may query the address but be honest with them and make them aware of the change.0
