Hi,
Looking to buy an xbox 360 for christmas, just wondering what is the best deal out there at the moment, not too keen on ebay as could do with a warranty on it.
Any good offers at the moment?
Cheers

i dont know where the best deals are at the moment but hmv often has good deals and when the sales assistant tries to help you you can then usually ask if they are willing to change any of the games in the deal if you dont like any of them.0

Depends what games your child is into. Just bought XBox 360 with Gears of War 1 & 2 and an extra controller for £196 at Gamestation.
They had a few other offers too so may be worth a look.Roadkill Rebel #87 Sept 49p Aug 3p July 55p June £1.38 May 6p Apr 26p & 1c Mar 39p Feb 32p Jan 57p0 -
apart from memory size what is the diff between the 60GB & the 120GB 360?
I am looking to get one for my DH 40th & don't want to mess up with the wrong type console!
Also most some with games aimed at kids (well its mostly kids who play, not 40 year old me, lol!) I want a console with more 'grown up' games. Like FIFA 09 & some dreadful blow everyone up game. It has a name, can't remmener though!!!
So anyway, the diff between 60 & 120MB apart from memory soze?

Heya,
There's a short article about this on the following site:
Differences between Xbox 360 Arcade, Premium, and Elite
In short, there's no big difference other than the hard disk size and the fact the Xbox 360 Elite comes in black. There's some other minor differences; a different AV cable comes with the Elite, and the Elite gets "free" Xbox Live membership for a few months.
In response to the original post, the same site has an article, that seems to be updated daily, on Xbox 360 Christmas deals:
Xbox 360 Bundle Deals
Hope this helps!0 -
I don't think that bit is true but every new Xbox live account gets 1 month of Gold free irrespective of the version of xbox bought.
b33r is right in that every new account gets 1 free month of gold anyway, you register for a silver account and as a new subscriber you get 1 free month of gold0 -

and when the month runs out if you start a totally new gamertag and register totally new details including a new email address you are then likely to get another free month. i got 3 free months before the system caught up.0 -

True but I think a large part of the xbox live is the tracking of your Gamerscore which you would lose every time you created a new account, plus the annoyance of having to add all your friends every time. Not 100% sure if you would also lose stuff you buy with the points like aracde games, themes etc, they might be bought for the console.
I think the xbox live is worth the 25 i paid for 13 months and I would pay more. /hopes microsoft arent listening.0 -
you wont lose them but you would be inconvenienced. you wont lose them because when you start the new gamertag you can still leave the old one on the console when it reverts to silver. of course you would ahve to add friends again and keep them informed about what you are doing. i guess it depends how much you care about things like gamerscore. personally unless you are extremely good at games the gamerscore is fairly irrelevant. i would rather save money.0
