had a peice of beef in the shrink wrap but from the counter. there was a huge peice of grissel running through the lenght of it. took the grissel back with my receipt. cs called for a manager because of the price £12. man (sup more like) it was not a faulty product as fat was surrposed to be there. i said to her about 10 times that it was not fat. naffed of as i would guess that a least £2 of the joint was grissel. what should i do and what are my rights???

If your local store wasn't helpful (which surprises me) I would suggest an email or letter to the head office customer services expressing your dissappointment not only with the product but with the follow up service from the store. Name the store, date and include a photocopy of the receipt or similar.
I would expect them to write back making a goodwill gesture to refund the cost of the item in full. It's better for them to lose £12 than lose a customer.0 -
I am going to tesco tonight and I am taking with me a pot of egg mayonaise sandwich filler to give them back as it is full of egg shell!!! I hope that they give me the money back!0

They *used* to have the policy that:
"We are happy to refund or replace any tesco product which falls below the high standard you expect. Just ask any memeber of staff."
this rather tellingly (do customers no longer expect a high standard from Tesco, just cheap [mis]prices) is now :
"If you are not happy with the quality of any of our products please bring them back within 28 days with your receipt and we will happily refund or replace the item."
I would say on the former policy it's an open and shut case. I still think there is an argument to visit CS and state "I am not happy about the quality of this product", and ask them to refund or replace as per the policy on the board behind you.
IMHO the customer should *always* be right!

i got a refund on some "off" cottage cheese @ 90p. a few weeks ago i bought 2 prepacked duck legs in sauce. there was only 1 in the pack. i was furious and took the packaging back to CS. I was refused a refund as i did not have the product, only the receipt and the bar code. i wrote to Head Office expressing concern at this and got £5 gift voucher.Just about to give up!0

most companies, as above and including Sainsbury's, used to be good about refunds. Very generous, refund & replace, no receipt needed etc. However in our modern "take the pss" society there were too many people ripping them off.
They therefore have to assume the worst about people, so those of us with a genuine complaine get treated shoddily.0
