hi,

last week or so when playing any video clips ive noticed they sound very funny and not normal any ideas why please?

thanks
have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

    What are you using to play them? WMP?

    Maybe your codecs are borked. Try downloading k-lite codec pack (search)... it comes with media player classic, which is a very good media player. Another alternative, which usually handles everything without additional codec downloads, is VLC media player.

    Failing that, it could be that your sound drivers are somehow corrupted, in which case, go start> run, type "dxdiag", hit enter, select the sound tab. Find out the name of your sounds card, visit the manufacturers site, or do a search, and find up-to-date drivers. This might fix your problem.

    just tested it again and when i play something on windows media like beathoven (i think is the sampl) it plays fine it just seems to be tv videos

    is this link ok to download them from?

    Yes that link is OK for the K-Lite codecs. This pack should include all the codecs you need. It might also be worth while seeing if there are any updated drivers available for your sound card at the same time.

    can you explain why some videos are ok but not others? as i also did a video for my kids from santa and the sound on that is good to

    Are you transfering from a DV camcorder for all the video's? ar is there a variety of sources?

    no not doing anything like that just watched a bit of catch up tv when i noticed it happened

    it was from sky's homepage so i think thru ie not media
