I think (although I could be wrong) that "goyim" is the plural, and one person is a "Shabbas goy". Certainly, "-im" is the standard plural in Hebrew.
"Shabbas" is Yiddish, "Shabbat" is Hebrew....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Weirdly, with exceptions of course, I have found that the more religious of my 'new' family are th most accepting. They like I make an effort and I think they have accepted the difference as Jew/non-Jew where as the least observate most liberated/non-pratising, feel a difference but they are not prepared to label it as that, so it sits less comfortably with some of them.
