in Credit cards
Hi Everyone
My boyfriend and I got caught up in the Stansted protests today and our flight to Berlin was cancelled with Ryanair.
The only flights they had available were Thur and we are coming back Fri
We therefore cancelled our booking through Ryanair for the flight and hotel and have found a flight that leaves tomorrow with BA from Heathrow so we can still have some days of our holiday. Problem is the flights are £280 instead of £150 and the hotel is more expensive too for 3 days instead of 4 (same hotel but when we called up the hotel to check the Ryanair hotels booking they didn't even have a record of us so we couldn't continue with the previous booking) Hotel is now £126 for 3 nights instead of £111 for 4 nights.
Question is - we paid for the flight and hotel by credit card and we want to know what we can claim for.
We will be getting a refund from Ryanair for the flight and hotel (we also want them to refund the deposit paid) but can we claim from Lloyds credit card the price difference between our original plan and the one we have to take? We have also lost a day and a half of our holiday, had to travel from Worthing to Stanstead and back and then to Heathrow again and also have made over £30 on premium rate phone numbers to try and get this sorted.
Anyone know what we can expect to get back?
Thanks

I may be wrong but this would come under travel insurance...having never taken a policy out before I don't know what they would and wouldn't cover.
I think it unlikely that the credit card company would be liable for anything here.0 -
If you are getting a refund from Ryanair for what you originally paid then that's that. The credit card company are not responsible for whatever alternatives you choose to book.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244
