Question regarding tortoise

Will everyone please stop assuming all vivariums are just all-glass tanks. A vivarium is somewhere you keep a live animal. A chicken coop or a dog kennel is technically a viv. All-glass tanks for reptiles are bad. Wooden vivs, heated sheds, tortoise tables etc are good. Build or design you own. Rant over but it causes confusion when people describe vivs as only the all-glass ones. I can be a pedant with language I know but at times it is important. Other than that, we are all saying the same thing.

My part of the north was too wet this summer. My tortoise would have to learn to snorkel in my garden! Like a mud-bath at the moment. 2006 was a great summer mind. This summer he had to make do with my patio in between rain showers.

i don't think anybody has assumed vivs are all glass tanks.
Wooden vivs still have glass sliding doors that can stress out tortoises, but all you need to do is make the glass runner plinth higher than the tortoise can get to so they can't see the glass. There's pretty much a way around everything, higher glass level, extra vents in the viv for the ventilation etc etc.
