Fraudulent use of credit card

Recently whilst doing my taxes for my accountant i realised that my credit card (any my partners) had been fraudulently used for a sum of £135.15 in June 2007. I rang the fraudulent use line to ask about recovering those cost, my partner similarly lost £157.33 to the same company. We have been told separate things but both sound like rubbish to me. I was initially told by the call operator that my claim would have expired after 120 days but then she consulted with a 'superior' who stated there is no expiry on fraudulent use and they would ring me back....which they didn't. Can anybody advise me before i make a 2nd phone call as to whether they are right in that i have lost that money now or could i/should i pursue the money. It is £300 odd pounds and i feel pretty angry that even though i was late to pick this up, it still means my card was fraudulently used at some point therefore i don't believe i should have to incur this loss.

If you are a good customer, your card company is likely to take the loss itself rather than making you suffer. However, by failing to spot it within the 120 day period you have lost some of your rights and have made it more difficult to catch the criminal and recover the money.
I suggest that you speak with managers at your card company and be very polite: act as if they are doing you a favour if you get the money back (whether or not they have to do so).0
