Just curious how you guys keep your lappy in good working order, i.e. internet running quickly & smoothly etc.
I do the defragmentation of my drives every couple of months as well as using the diskcleanup function. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Running quick scans of malwarebytes every so often http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and using ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/0

Runnning through the malware sticky at the top of the techie board is a good idea. I'd postulate that malware is the prime cause of all slow computers.
Another big recommendation is downloading, installing and regularly running ccleaner. It removes unnecessary temporary files, and generally does a thorough cleanup of your hard disk. It's startup utility is also good for finding out what runs when your computer starts up, and getting rid of unecessary start up items (which hog resources and slow things down)
Other than that, regular browser and OS updates, uninstalling and disabling programs you don't use, using firefox instead of I.E (from a security point of view) and after all that, if you still aren't happy, a RAM updgrade is the next step.Russia is HERE0 -
