Best mid-range / budget tyres (Kleber)

Can anyone recommend a good midrange brand for replacing on my Citroen C4 Coupe please?

I currently use Michelin Pilot Primacy tyres which last time were about £140 / corner.

Our local garage uses the Kleber brand:

Kleber tyres are made by Michelin and are their budget range. Kleber offer a free vehicle breakdown recovery service for Kleber car tyres, which covers them for any tyre fault, as well as vandalism, punctures, blow-outs or accidental damage.

Are they recommended? I know they just happen to be the Mitchelin budget brand, but I don't know whether that means anything - I assume they just bought another company?

Thanx

We used Kleber on our delivery vans, very hard wearing but not brilliant grip.

For me, Federal SS595, Firestone or Falken are good budget tyres, basically if it starts with F you're safe ;)

I have to say Toyo's are the way forward.

    Good price and hard wearing!

  • I have falkens on my car with similar size to yours and i would say they are average on grip but pretty good on wear. But tbf I've not yet found a tyre thats good at both!

You can get new for not much more than £35? Why put part-worns on there that you dont know anything about? They could have been puncture repaired or have a weakened side wall from an impact, not worth the saving for me, especially for me with my young son in the car.

  • But the car your driving has part worn tyres on it.

Infact EVERY car on the road has part worn tyres on...

Yes you can get brand new tyres for 20/34 quid, but they wont be a premium brand like Conti or Michies.

Granted, but the tyres you have on your own car you know dont have repairs or accident damage that may weaken the tyre. My own tyres with 3mm could be safer/better than part worn tyres with 7mm tread. Like I said, not worth the risk.

  • Dunno, the car I have has 140,000 miles on. The tyres that are on it are the ones it came with. I've only inspected the outside of them.
