we live in surrey and our nearest powerhouse store is in slough. ordered a cooker from there and it was delivered yesterday. had to pay an extra £45 as we were out of their area.
today the installer was meant to come but we got a phone call to say they wont be able to come to instal it and take away our old cooker as we are "out of their area". they managed to deliver the thing but cant make it to instal it!?
so ive wasted a whole morning waiting when i could have been catching up on my sleep (baby is a night owl).
to be fair they are refunding us the £75 for installation and collection of old cooker but i need to vent and perhaps this can be a warning to others if they are thinking of ordering from powerhouse.

oh spoke with the manager who added insult to injury by saying they can come and do it next monday!!
oh told him what to do with his offer and is writing a letter of complaint. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
mr mob has written and gave them 7 days before seeking legal action.
7 days have passed and no reply (original sent to h/o and copy to the store in question)
so what now? who to contact? would slough trading standards be the place to start? There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
Well when you bought it if they said that they were going to install it they should have. If they were unable to do this they have broken their contract with you, therefore surely you are entitled to something.
I would get a quote off a local business - is it a electrician or plumber that does it I dont know - for doing the work, then ring the manager and tell him that if he doesnt get someone out to do the job within 'x' amount of days then you will be sending the bill for the work done by contractor to Powerhouse!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
we gt the money basck to be fair to powrhouse and paid the same for someone else to do it.
its just the principle thing. wether to follow through our threat or not. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
Yeah follow through your threat, make them sweat - they inconvenienced you and broke their contract. If they wont maybe you will have to accept it but if they let you have something well that could be a bonus!Weight Loss - 102lb0
