Marks and Spencer Card- Confused slightly

But surely it'll be worth it for all the points?

Sod the points, all I want is 10 months interest-free purchases - I've got a big payment to make this week (wife's university fees) and I want to spread the payments over a few months. Now I'm going to have to put some of it on an interest-bearing card and squeeze myself over the next couple of months to pay it off quickly. I suppose I should have applied for an interest-free card sooner, but I've never had a cc application take this long before. :mad:0 -

Jay, I applied for a John Lewis card this weekend and got an instant yes decision, didn't ask for any further info. They have 6 months interest free so perhaps give it a go?Kavanne

My daughter recently applied for a M & S card (her first credit card) and was accepted - from application to receiving the card took about 10 days.
No phone calls and no other contact - it may help that both my wife and I have M & S cards with no adverse history so no problem with M & S from my perspective.

Is the M &S Card instant decision or do they allways take forever.0

I finally have my new card in hand....ten weeks after application!
Now...onto the main reason I applied and that was to take advantage of the Balance Transfer....10 months interest free.
Well I called up the number this morning got through to robotic agent (offshore contact centre) ...who said "Sorry, no special offers on Balance transfers, maybe call next week?"
What is that supposed to mean?
Do you have to apply and get approved for a Balance Transfer as well?0 -
The M&S card hasn't had any balance transfer offers recently that I know of. Their offer has always been 10 months 0% on purchases. There may have been an offer on BT's at one point, but I think it was 3 months max.
What does it say in your terms and conditions?
EDIT: I lie. The M&S website says:
0% on balance transfers for 6 months (2% fee, minimum £5). However this may be for new customers. Your terms and conditions will give you details of the specific offer you applied for. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
just applied for the M&s card it says 10 months 0% on shopping, does this mean any purchases, and not just shopping like most cards

I think that the Marks & Spencer credit card is a bit of a chiz ( except that it does own up in the small print ) as it is not Marks and Spencer as far as I know it is a bank licenced by Marks & Spencer. ( N.B. All perfectly legal and above board but it fooled me ! )...............................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
