Ipod Video - Do not disconnect!

Hi My girl just got an Ipod Video,

everytime she tries to synch it to her windows Xp itunes it freezes and displays 'do not disconnect'. It's connect via a usb 2.0

unplugging doesn't help remains the same, leaving it for hours doesn't help. we have to unplug and reset it by pressing the center button and search for a few seconds.

does anybody know why this is happening and have any solutions.

Hi Simaster.

I had this problem with my wife's. Apple told me to turn the hold switch on and off a couple of times, then hold the center button in. That reset's the ipod (i think).
It worked ok for me after that.
I found ipod helpline very helpful, 0800 039 1515.
