Recommendations for an all-in-one printer?

I'm looking for any recommendations for an all-in-one (printer, scanner + copier) preferably with reasonably priced replacement inks.
This is for a christmas present for my dad and hence also needs to be simple to operate. I've got an older Epson Dx3800 and cant complain at all but from looking online it seems like the newer versions aren't as good (or people are more fussy?
). Has anyone got one of the newer SX100/200/etc range?
Thanks!

I'm a big fan of Canon's and have had an MP500 for about 3 or so years. Think the MP 620 is the equivalent now. Very good photo quality as well.
Hope this helps.

check cost of ink refills , some could give you a shock ,I use brother DPC-330C
great machine ,refills from inkemporium.co.uk incl their cheaper brand are ok and postage free0 -
I have the Brother DCP-115C, was about £40 and the refills are £6.99 for all 4 cartridges from the ink emporium. I bought it for this reason alone. Not the best prints, but I dont photo print at home. Great for everyday printing in colour and black/white. Scanner and copier is very simple to use - one button. Also has a built in card reader.0

For what it's worth, I've just bought a new Canon PIXMA MP220 from Argos for £39.99. So far I've used it for text printing and copying. The results look fine to me. I have not yet tried the scanner but OCR is included. It's supposed to be ok for photos but I don't care about that. I have just ordered ink here:

Personally, I'm very satisfied with it.0 -
Thanks for the reply. Ink looks a bit pricey and as its a combined colour cartridge I presume its going to need replace a lot more frequently than if they were individuals.0

Have a look at canon MP610
If it's as good as my old MP500 it's a definate taker :j
Uses 5 seperate ink tanks which seem to last. I haven't tried using non-genuine tanks yet so can't comment on their quality. Also, can print direct onto cd's/DVD'sIf I have helped in any way, and you feel like it - please press the thanks button:beer:0 -
Do any of these recommended printers have screens and allow you to crop or edit photos before you print?
Also, does the computer have to be on if you are printing straight from a camera or card?
But not a real green dress, that's cruel0
