Norton Anti Virus Auto Protect

My Norton A/virus is not engaging autoprotect when I start my computer this has started in the last few days. I have checked the settings and it is set to engage. It does engage auto protect when done manually after start up. Any suggestions?

Which version, which OS?
Norton AntiVirus 2003 Auto-Protect is disabled on startup shows how to troubleshoot this problem for NAV 2003, and should be similar for other versions.0
