    I've just read through this thread. I think the website is overly pessimistic and purposefully shocking and lacking in considering other views, but the discussion on this thread is interesting and intelligent. Beats the more recent:

    "You're a bear".
    "You're a bull, you stupid debt junkie"
    "Your Mum."
    "No, your Mum."
    "You missed the boat! Tee hee..."

    <repeat>

    I found it a couple of months ago - googling for something else - it's quite interesting - quite scary - the end of civilisation as we know it!!!!
    For me, the last 10 years have been the end of civilisation as I knew it.

    It's bank holiday weekend, did you really have so little to do that you trawled through threads to resurrect this one from 2008?

    So he should be joining one of those monstrous bank holiday traffic queues instead?

    From the first para:
    Since 1950 the amount of money in circulation has doubled every 15 years or at a rate of 5.7% per annum. The excuse for this has always been that the extra money was needed to accommodate growth and inflation. However, what it did was to provide the State with a regular source of new money year on year.

    Not true. Most money (over 90%) created is as a result of credit creation by privately or mutually owned banks, building societies and credit unions.

    Could be worse ... it could be denigrated by some bear (who is angry about having missed the boat) calling a contributor a retard.

    Nice adult behaviour.
