1) Government - doesn't work
2) Politicians - all liars.
3) Inflation - is deliberatly understated by the powers that be.
4) Economic growth - see above
5) Work - all people who work for the state are lazy bludgers. Yes you Nurse Smith.
6) The Housing market - is actually pyramid selling.
7) Women - all lesbians.
8) Immigration - the black man is coming for your daughter. (not the lesbian one).
9) Food supply - we're all going to starve. Lip up fatty.
10) Collapse of the West - Roman Empire and all that.

Why are they prejudiced against lesbians?0 -
5 step plan:
1. Quit job
2. Move to an island with a forrest
3. build house with woodburning stove (this is where the forrest comes in handy)
4. Learn to fish/ grow veg (attempt not to starve whilst doing this)
5. Sit back and relax whilst the world goes to s**t
You can't really relax, though, as you have to be prepared to protect your little patch of turf against all comers. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

It sounds like a few people have an axe to grind with the government and have spun some yarn to make some money off the back of it.
Lo and behold, it turns out they're experts and can train companies and executives to ride out the financial armageddon that's heading our way.
Call me cynical but it sounds like a marketing ploy to me with some figures thrown in to sound convincing!

I would say that they have the figure on inflation spot on. No-one can beleive a figure of 3/4% when food rose 15%, power 33% etc. If that is an example maybe all their figures are right.0 -
There are some frightening points made which can already be clearly anticipated, that's if they're not already happening. Some of them are 'unspeakable' politically and so we ignore things rather than face up to them.
I really do wonder what sort of a world our children will be moving into. In my lifetime I have seen this country descend into some sort of a reversal of civilisation and the indicators for the future are only worse as we head along our present course.
That having said, humankind has an extraordinary capacity for endeavour and achievement. We're in times of incredibly fast change, technological development, medical advances, etc. I think it's far from certain in what way our ecomonic wellbeing and society will develop; but facing up to reality, tough and strong decision making will be needed, grabbing hold of opportunities and probably some good luck.0 -
I saw this website a while back and happen to agree with the majority of the points, but whenever I raise them with other people I am met with either silent ambivelence or ridicule.
Another particularly wonderful explaination of the severity of the current meltdown is Chris Martenson's Crash Course. It's more factual and less editorial, albeit US-centric.Lotus-eater wrote: »Does anyone know who is behind the website?
Some very basic internet sleuthing reveals that this is the work of a Mr Scrivens of Ashford, it seems.
He also kicked up a fuss about the apparent housing shortage in London 6 years ago (link) and makes ornamental water features (link)0
