E-on Charges ?
Hi, Can anyone help answer a query.
We were paying a DD to E-on for gas and electric of £112 a month. In march this year they suddenly reduced this to £58 a month. Last month we contacted E-on to query something at which point they decided that they had not been charging us for electric for the past 9 months, and as such sent a further bill totalling a debit of £1200, however this still does not equate to the consumption we were previously using.
After many phone calls they have decided the amount can be paid of over two years at £37 a month and they are increasing the DD to £160, so £197 in total.
Is this acceptable, as they were the ones who failed to charge for the electic and reduced the DD in the first instance.

Your last electricity bill/statement will indicate what meter reading you have been billed up to.
Take a reading today and the difference will be the amount yoiu have consumed but not paid for.
Of course you should pay for the electricity you have consumed. Who do you expect will pay for it otherwise? Other customers who have their own bills to pay?
Back billing you for 9 months is perfectly acceptable.
Think of it as an interest free loan for 2 years 9 months"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
