Underfloor heating (merged threads)

Options
am looking to fit underfloor heating in by main bathroom of the flat. Have purchased a dry heating mat but am unsure as to if boards are required to fit it onto concrete

Anybody got any experience of this and how is it done?

Cheers

Pete

    Hi mercman,

I'm going to move your thread over to the In My Home board, where hopefully you will get more replies.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. No idea myself but if you gop to the Screwfix website and look for their own products(they do heating mats) you will seee a link for fitting instructions which opens a PDF - could be worth a look.

If you can post the make and type of the matt you purchased, maybe we can help.

Spoke to my brother , who is a sparky , he reckons whenever laying on a concrete floor , you should always use insulation board as if not , the concrete acts as a heat sink . This means you would be heating concrete slab before feeling any heat through your tiles . HTH as it is way over me ! x
  • Hello

I am looking at getting underfloor heating installed into our new kitchen extension. The trouble is that the new part will have a concrete floor & the existing floor is wood. I want to get one of the devimat systems but not sure what one to get.

Also can i lay this if the flooring we were looking at is going to be Lino??

    Thanks in advance

Use a product called Marmox Insulation boards which is compatible with underfloor heating. This will increase response times & efficiency of the underfloor heating and lower running costs.

I bought my from a firm called Strada based in Derby.
