Hi looking to get a playstation 3 for OH's Xmas and just wondering what people's opinion of this deal is??

Amazon do better deals with the PS3 80Gb. You can get it with a couple of games, a blu-ray movie and a HDMI cable for about £300

There really is no need to spend the extra cash for the 160Gb unit as he'll probably not need the space. I have the 40Gb version and still have plenty of space.

You post suggests that the deal you have found lists all the things you have as extra's that are part of the bundle. This is misleading. A single DualShock 3 controller is standard, not extra. The Blu-Ray player is standard, not extra. 1080P is standard, not extra.

If the games are what your OH wants then go for is seeing as games alone are 40/50 quid (I've heard that little big planet is suppose to be brilliant but not my cup of tea)

you could get a smaller HD one for cheaper and then just up grade the HD which would probably save a few pennies

I would keep searching as closer to xmas you may see prices drop just a little more!

BUT the PS3 is an excellent console especially if you are going to use the Blu-ray

They are starting to release free movies (shorts only at the moment) via sony's store, that's one of the reasons for the 160Gb version, so you can store movies.
