                    Are there any?!
I am sick of dealing with BT, their customer support is inconsistent and everyone gives you a different answer - I want a Land Line in my house but I don't want BT - what alternatives do I have?!
(Bearing in mind I will also need ADSL to be used on this line)

If you get Talk Talk calls (run by the Carphone Warehouse) you can now get your line rental through them as well. Talk Talk are great for free calls to anyone else with Talk Talk - I get just about all my family calls free now as we are all on Talk Talk.0

Only BT, by the terms of its licence, must allow you to use other carriers on its exchange lines for your calls, should you wish to do so.
No other UK service provider is so bound at the moment. You may well find that you are stuck with a carrier whose tariffs are not especially good if you move your exchange line away from BT.
You can use Talk Talk, as mentioned above, without moving your exchange line from BT.0
