Tuscana ST7

Hi everyone,

I have been looking at buying a computer for my son for christmas. Computers are not my strong point and I only know the basics, however I did the same for another son last year and the comments I received from here were excellent and very helpful.

Looking around the web I have come across a company called "Cube247.co.uk" and wonder if anyone has had any dealings with this company?

They have on offer a system which is a "Tuscana ST7" for £475 which appears to have loads of what I may need. My son likes games on his computer and uses it in general like most other children so is this a good deal or not?

Or could anyone tell me a company to use please?

Thanks for looking and hopefully you can help.

Absolutely no good for gaming. It has an Intel GMA 3100 card which is about as far from a gaming card as you can get. Look for one that has at least a nVidia Geforce 8600GT or 9600GT.

The simple truth of the matter is a decent gaming PC is going to set you back the thick end of £600, a top end one £1800.
  • Thanks for the info Conor. I told you I know nothing about computers!!

Looks like we must start looking again and increasing the budget!!

    Thanks again

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk are a good company. You can get their £300 Home Office machine and upgrade the graphics card to the 9600GT. The £300 machine doesn't come with mouse, keyboard, monitor or speakers so you need to add those or just use what you've already got. Their build quality is excellent and they do a good job of software installation as well.
