I am planning to buy a second hand car. I was looking through different sites including the the ebay. Many places they mention that car is category d or category D... mostly after repairs after a damage.
I couldnt uderstand what they mean??
Is it that the inssurance would be costly on these cars??
Also they mession about class 1 or class 4 0r 5 inssurance.
Could anyone please explain to me what it all means.
Many thanks.
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

On the category D point, here are a couple of other threads on a similar subject. Within the threads there are some links to some other relevant sites

I imagine they mean the vehice is a category D insurance write off, which is a category which can be repaired and returned to the road.

CAT C requires a VIC check, whereby a CAT D does not require one by VOSA
