The recent Dell systems which use the BTX format i.e 5100 onwards, are excellent, straightforward systems with a useable amount of power but which are also extremely quiet. I've had 3 or 4 through my hands and definitely recommend them.
Performance -v- silence is rather a hard balance and can get quite pricey, depending on how much performance you want. Unfortunately I'm in the 'build your own' camp where it can become an obsession, with case fans costing £20 each and cases getting ridiculously expensive (lian li V2000 with extra soundproofing).0 -
Hi, just to let you know, I ordered a Dell 5150 in the end.
Thank you all for your advice! :j

Are you using a speedtouch modem? If you are just install driver, before plugging in your modem, reboot and then plug in, go to ie, tools, internet options, connections and setup from there, ie. username/password/tel no and away you go. Also check outlook express, or whatever your using, and note email settings.
My 5150 came with nortons security suite, if you don't want that, unistall and put your own on.
Ops sorry didn't read your original post, it was the tiscali cd that through me I see you have a wireless router, so set us as before.
Hope this helps0
