    Personally I'll never buy a Frost Free ever again as there is too much to go wrong and when they do you really have to dig around and disturb all sorts of stuff to get to the parts!

    Everybody to their own opinion but I would never buy anything but a Frost Free ever again! Our Hotpoint 8595 was delivered in January 1994 (older than I originally thought) and has given very good service over the last 12 years. As it does not require defrosting, I really should remember to vacuum out the heat exchanger area behind the grill at the bottom of the cabinet before this problem arises.

    I would be interested to hear the outcome of the original posters problem.
