  • Oh waily, waily, I'll NEVER catch up! Life has decided to throw us a curve ball and I'm desperately trying to keep it all together (horribly mixed metaphors, sorry).

DH has been poorly since last Friday - thought he'd pulled a muscle when trying not to drop a box of work but he was totally off colour over the weekend. He felt very hot on Sunday night so I took his temp - nothing out of the ordinary. He struggled into work on Monday and Tuesday and I insisted he contact the GP for an appointment, which he did (would have been on Wednesday a.m.). However, he looked so awful on Tuesday pm and the pain had moved round from the back to the front of his tum, so I took his temp again - 104
At that point I called the surgery and got through to the emergency line - the GP who DH would have seen on Wednesday called us back, took DH's symptoms and ordered us down to the GP Out of Hours surgery at the local hospital. Upshot is that DH has a serious urinary tract infection. GP wanted him admitted and put on an antibiotic drip, but DH refused (I didn't know about this at the time either:mad: ) so we went off to get his prescription filled for megastrong antibiotics and he's been on them every since.
Trouble is, he actually DOES have to go in to work, so he's been coming in and doing what he can but he really isn't well and the stress at work isn't helping .

My beautiful step-daughters have been great, volunteering to do the Christmas shopping for the grandkids' presents. I am so lucky to have them! But I'm worried about my man

My OH is soooo going to be mad. He hates to throw anything away but he's had these 2 pine breakfast bar stools ever since I met him. Now in 12 years we havent had a breakfast bar so these stools have just kicked about. One has been used as a plant stand in the dining room for years and the other has just been lurking in the kitchen. The wood had split and been repaired once and had split again and noone ever got around to repairing it so I've just sawn it up for firewood - and lit the fire before he gets home. Ahhh the rebel in me :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

PS hugs to all the poorlies

If youkeep quiet how long till he notices.

Menolly huge hugs - why does he have to go in? If the worst happened you know bus crossing road senario then somebody else would have to wouldn't they? Health is the most important thing along with family x

DS3 asleep on the sofa now.

DS1 didn't do as well as he wanted in his exam so is not happy (at least he wants to do well) I of course am to blame.

Chook smelling lovely - DS2 didn't want school chrimstmas dinner as the queues are silly and you rush to eat it so cooking it for him - he loves chicken.
