No, not a con - why should it be? Punters probably won't have any one film for more than a week, on average. The firm will get bulk discounts on postage - so they'll get about £2 a rental for very little overheads(Also, if you shop around, you'll get 3 rentals a month for A LOT closer to £5 than to £10! :j)

WHY won't the post above GO AWAY!!!! :rolleyes:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I too think your water rates are too high. I have a meter, plus 2 kids, the usual gamut of endless washing and splashing through a 4-bed house and garden and a water bill of £13 pcm! However we do also use water saving devices in loos etc and have made sure our washing machine is water-friendly. So maybe you need to switch to a meter but then LEARN how to take advantage of it and use it wisely.
Yourutilities bills also look high. Again, maybe you'd benefit from reading some of the other forums to look at howto save enegy consumption.
Don't forget - even though you might only be able to achiveve what looks like a small benefit - by way of saving a few squid each month on the gas or water - that small bit of saving then can be paid off against your most expensive debt, saving you even more money in reduced interest paid!0 -

Thanks Alicat! Ill look into my water bills, i'm sure they were right though, as its not only water I pay for but the drainage of water or waste water I think they refer to it as. How many cubic meters do you use on average a month? Would you be able to check a bill for me if you get time? Do they charge you the same again for the wastewater charge?0 -

Yes, pretty sure they would. In fact, I've been challenged taking things into cinemas before (and into London shows!) - smuggling's the answer. I get really narked that they try to kidnap you so that you can eat only THEIR lousy food!
I'm going to do a cheapest DVD rental hunt on google this weekend, ill let you know what I find
Hmmmmmm think ill be making sure the missus takes her largest handbag to the cinema in future and smuggle a small buffet in with her  I can never comprehend how they get away with charging £3 for a medium coke, its usually the syrup - add water variety which costs them pennies.0 -

Like the idea of bottled drink and own popcorn at cinema its too easy to save £5 a time with my pass then spend that on £3 drink and £2.50 popcorn, great idea. Do they officially allow you to bring your own food into cinema? Obviously id put it in a bag, but if you just strolled in drinking a can with a bag of popcorn under your arm would they try and confiscate it?
Thanks everyone for continued advice, - going to try and reduce the grocery bill this week
You would need to smuggle it in, just something small like a bag of maltesers, chewits or whatever sweets they are doing these days
You could also eat before you go to the cinema so you dont need to snack (unless your a greedy so and so like me)
