Washing machine poorly

The drum on my washing machine will not turn :eek: Rubber band thingie is intact, so could anyone please shed some light on what the problem might be!

The best advise i ever had on washing machines was to get a Miele and it will be cheapest in the long run as they are expected to last 25years.Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j

Carmen it may be the brushes(as quoted above) or the capacitor. Capacitor costs about £10 brushes even cheaper!!..so if you have to get someone out to repair it make sure you don't get ripped off. By the way Capacitors hold a lot electric charge and to be on the safe side its maybe best to get someone in.
