How would I buy some shares in Santander (direct from them in my name) They've got some nice shareholder deals 
- I looked on their site (When it was up 
) they have application forms for buying shares but it asks for my shareholder number but I don't have one of these 
On the 11th (I think it is) its free to buy Santander shares aswell..

As you say the Santander Shareholder UK site is broken just now.
It may be that the fee-free share buying days are for existing shareholders only. You could enquire with the registrar company what your options are.0
