  • lol, yes there is, I will sort it now!
  • Tax credits and Child Benefit payments over Christmas
If you get tax credits, your payments may be paid a little earlier than usual over Christmas and New Year. Payment dates that are affected are as follow:
    • if your payment is due to be paid into your account on Thursday 25 December, Friday 26 December or Monday 29 December, it will be paid into your account on Wednesday 24 December instead
    • if your payment is due to be paid into your account on Wednesday 31 December 2008, Thursday 1 January or Friday 2 January 2009, it will be paid into your account on Tuesday 30 December 2008 instead
Child Benefit payments won't be affected.
    Hope this helps clarify things.
  • You have quoted the HMRC website but the table I posted above is the exact dates given to TCO advisers.

There are a couple of differences for Scotland/England/Ireland/Wales.

And the HMRC website for some reason doesn't give dates for giro payments.

    Benefit payments over Christmas 2008

    18 December 2008

The Department has always ensured that when customers are due payments on a national public holiday when most banks and financial institutions are closed, they have access to their money in advance.
Payments due on Wednesday 24, Thursday 25, and Friday 26 December will be paid on Tuesday 23 December.
Payments due on Thursday 1 January 2009 will be paid on Wednesday 31 December 2008.

that is on the DWP news site
