Using a UK-bought Wii in America?

Hi. I can't find the answer to this anywhere. I don't want to use US Wii games on the UK Wii as I know they are not cross-compatible. We're looking at moving out to America for 3 years and I just need to know if it's worth buying any more games for the Wii because we can take it all with us or if we'll have to leave it at home as it won't work in the US. I'm sure I read something about being able to get some device that'll enable it to work on 110v but still confused about the PAL/NTSC issue. Can anyone help?

Think you would need to find out if the tv you will be using is pal compatable, failing that take a tv with you and just use a voltage converter.

Thanks for the reply. Taking our TV is an option - would we be able to watch cable TV on it though?
  • I think it would be better to sell the UK Wii and get a new one when you get there.
Nothing to see here, move along.
  • Yeh, sell your uk wii, and buy american NTSC devices when you're there. If you take your wii, you'd still have to buy uk games, and wouldn't be able to play any american copies.

Depends on your tv being pal/ntsc compatible. Not all are.

Personally I would just buy a new when I got there and sell it when leaving.
  • Wii's - and most consoles - are cheaper in the States. Sell your one, buy another. Do the same when you move back.
