Refund to expired credit card

Hi There. I emailed ticketmaster to ask for a refund on tickets for a concert that had been cancelled. I sepcifically asked them in the email to call me as my credit card number had been changed since my original purchase (lost card).

Instead they have just emailed me to say they have refunded the amount to my card, which has the incorrect details. I just wanted to know will this make its way back into my account, despite having the old card number?

Thanks

It should do. Why not ask your provider to be sure?

I'm fairly sure it will get refunded properly. They would probably refuse to refund to a different card anyway. I would wait a week or so and see if it's appeared on your statement. If not, phone your card company and ask about it.

Thanks. I'll leave it a while and see if anything appears. Will also just send an internal message to egg to ask about it.

Usually refunds from same credit card co will be routed to your new card

I had this problem with a return to M&S. They kept insisting they had made the refund but it never showed up on my credit card. I finally had to contact credit card company by phone, they transferred the call through to M&S and I spoke to them. I then got transferred back to credit card who said they would sort it out - which they did. It was all due to my having a card renewal and M&S were using wrong 3-digit verification number from expired card!

I suggest you keep an eye out.

Your old card will be linked to your new card. Your account would not have changed, just the cards, so the refund should be processed normally back to your account.
