Kids have been on the computer and now everything - Text, icons, desktop have gone huge, how do I get back to normal.

Go to the Start menu
Go to Control Panel
Select Display
Go to Settings
Increase the screen resolution by moving the arrow and then click OK

Probably quickest and easiest way is for you to do a System Restore to a Restore Point just before your kids messed it up.

Otherwise you can try the longer method of resetting the resolution/refresh rate in your desktop display properties.
