Need to free space on my HD?

I am def not a techie. I need to free up space on my desk top, so I am deleting old files etc. but am worried I will delete something I shouldn't. :confused:

What sort of files and with .te?

    untick the box to install the yahoo toolbar and then run it and let it remove all the junk it finds

    Not keen to let something delete things willy nilly lol.

    So .te is just texease whuch means no probs deleting?

    I'm not sure about the .te files..I'd leave them (unless you KNOW you have used textease in the past)

    Ccleaner just removes old temp file etc that build up...it's suprising how much there is when you do it , no system files are removed ( i use it myself all the time )

    If you have a Microsoft OS the files wont be really be deleted until you empty the Rycyle bin.

    I had textease on pc, deleted program but looks like a couple of files remained. I have deleted lots of carp and am now running ccleaner thanks all.

    I would download and use TreeSizeFree from:
    http://www.jam-software.com/freeware/index.shtml

    This should help identify which folders are taking up the most space. Then any applications that you do not use could be uninstalled, either from their Start Menu shortcut or from Windows Control Panel.

    Cheers for that, looks useful, id used windirstat in the past, its good and produces a pretty diagram but takes a while to run.
