Hi,
I have just eaten a delicious chicken casserole made in the slow cooker with yesterdays leftover roast. Kids kicked up a fuss but all eaten in the end. the thing is i have some leftover and nobody is around tomorrow to eat it. Can i freeze it? (the orig chicken was frozen). I really dont want to throw it away, its got to the point that everything looks like a potential meal! I'll go and wash up and check back in 10 minutes.
Thanks guys,
Tina

I made stew today from yesterdays roast, and i always make enough for 2 days, we are eating some tonight, and once it has cooled, the rest will go in the freezer for later in the week!!! I do this most weeks and it has never hurt us!!! I just make sure i take it out the freezer the night before im re heating it.

The basic rule is that you can freeze raw food once, and then freeze it when cooked. Once.
Re-heating should be done thoroughly until all the food is piping hot (over 72°C).
And yes, you could make it into a pie before freezing if you wishHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. at christmas from our left overs, roasties, sprouts and all, I made soup. Same principle as my potato soup on the recipe thread HERE, then I whizzed it in the blender, added some cream as a garnish. Et voila! another meal from leftovers!
