help saving my music files

I've got some some music on my computer and would like to save it in case my computer crashes. i've got a pc line 1gb thingy which has a usb bit on it- can i use this and what do i do

You mean a pen drive.




Yes you can just plug it in and copy the music files to it. If its a large quantity of files perhaps burn to a cd/dvd

plug in your USB drive. go to the location your music files are stored. Right click on the files /folder then send to... removable drive (or the name of your USB drive) They shoud then copy over. As Savemoney said, if you have lots of files, you may want to burn them to DVD.

Thank you that was easy i've only got a one gig pen drive roughly how many songs would that hold

It would depend on the bitrate the higher the bitrate the bigger the file size Bit rate is like sampling the more samples it takes the quality goes up this reflects in the file size

A 128kbps is around 3-4mb 192kbps is around 5-6mb

If you want more to backup either use dvdr/cdr or get or bigger pen drive you can get a 16gb for under £20 now
