I want a new laptop --this is an Acer travelmate and is 7+ yrs old and has been brilliant, never once had a problem and its been on constantly all day every day. But the new Acers seemingly aren't the same --can anybody recommend a good laptop for me ? Ta.

Why not rejuvenate the old one and wait till you really new a new one, backup and re-install from scratch.0 -
I have had this upgraded and new memory added but the screen isnt a patch on the new ones...
I use it for emailing, forums, buying stuff (too often).
Weight not important, battery not important, no games, want a good screen, & I often spend the whole day flat on the couch and thats why I want a laptop.
