Laptop Will Not Charge

I have a Dell inspiron 1525 and the battery will not charge?????

The charger is fine as it charges my other Dell, the laptop shows the battery as being good but will not charge, any ideas????

    Could be the socket on the laptop where you plug charger in is faulty. As a first step, does the laptop run from the mains with the battery removed?

    Yeah just took battery out and it does work from the mains????

    I have the same laptop and my battery failed the same way, It was still under warrenty,(only 6mnths old) so rang Dell and after doing a few checks with them they agreed to send a replacement battery which is now working fine.

    Probably best to do the same as carvid51 and contact Dell if yours is under warranty.
